Body Countouring
Body contouring involves surgical body shaping. This removes excess, sagging skin and fat after significant weight loss and at the same time improves the shape of the underlying supporting tissue. If you lose a lot of weight after putting on weight, this is beneficial for your health, but there is often an aesthetic problem because the skin and tissue lack the elasticity to adapt again.
Introduction
If your figure lacks tone and tissue in certain areas tends to sag and droop, the situation can be significantly improved visually with a series of combined procedures. It doesn’t matter whether you are a woman or a man.
There are numerous zones that differ slightly from the targets according to gender. Body contouring can be used to treat the following areas of the body.
- Belly
- Hips
- Po
- Back
- Thigh
- Upper arms
- Chin
In order to achieve a lasting improvement in the body line, patients should fulfill certain criteria.
- Adults whose weight loss has stabilized.
- Healthy people without health problems for better healing and less risk of surgery.
- Non-smoker
- People with a positive attitude and realistic goals
- People who are committed to leading a healthy lifestyle with the right diet and fitness.
The above criteria explain why this combination of plastic surgery procedures is particularly aimed at women and men who are definitely pursuing change and improvement with discipline.
Methods
Techniques or medical procedures will of course depend on the area being treated. There are already interesting alternatives that are possible without surgery, but have clear limitations in the initial state.
Minimally invasive
Minimally invasive procedures, i.e. without surgery and without a scalpel, are used to treat fat deposits, weak connective tissue, deformities or excess skin.
There are a number of medical techniques such as cryolipolysis, radio frequency, laser lipolysis, thermal lift, injection lipolysis and many more.
Experience shows that the success of minimally invasive methods depends very much on the patient’s initial situation. Women or men may be inspired by glossy fashion photos and want to achieve a look similar to that of a top model. The limits will soon be reached here and it makes sense to question your own goals and wishes.
In most cases, the problem of fat or fat deposits is at the forefront. For body contouring, the methods mentioned above are usually only sufficient for smaller and localized areas.
There are also risks and side effects with methods without a scalpel, which I discuss in my medical description“Liposuction methods“.
Surgical methods
As soon as it comes to a real and substantial shaping, you will hardly be able to avoid a surgical procedure. The main priority here is that you are operated on by an expert who has sustained experience in the following areas:
- Liposuction
- Lipotransfer
- Lipofilling
- Deeper (subcutaneous) tissue structures
In addition to the purely medical know-how, an intuitive feeling and a long and detailed discussion with you as a patient is also required to find wishes, goals and possibilities for a convincing result.
During surgery, numerous anatomical conditions must be addressed in order to achieve a real improvement in the contours and shape of your body.
The following procedures are available for surgical body contouring, which can be used individually or in combination to achieve an overall result.
Tummy tuck
Abdominoplasty is anything but a simple procedure. It requires a high level of expertise and experience. Rather, it is not simply about“tightening” or“stretching““sagging skin” and taking away some fat in the process.
Dr. Scholz’s innovative methods shape the torso (3D torso) so that it has an aesthetically attractive contour and you can hardly see a scar later.

Breast surgery
A full bosom in women or a firm chest in men often helps to achieve the desired figure. However, this procedure alone can only be of limited benefit if the skin is hanging from the abdomen.
To make the overall line and figure look more attractive in the full, other problem areas may also need to be taken into account.

Liposuction
The liposuction procedure has been established over the last few years and is often advertised without clearly pointing out the challenge to the surgeon.
What is often unknown is that liposuction has restrictions on the amount of fat that can be removed. If certain requirements are met, very good results can be achieved here. However, pure liposuction alone will not help many patients if the surgeon does not provide a real model of your figure.

Arm lift
Tighter arms can be loosened and sagging skin on the upper arms is usually tightened via an incision from the armpit area along the inside of the upper arm. Additional incisions on the arms may be necessary if there are other areas with excess skin.
Conclusion
For a visible change from an initial situation in the patient where tissue is rather flabby and sagging, only surgical procedures can bring about an improvement.
Although fine scars remain visible, intelligent and precise techniques place incisions in skin folds or conceal them in poorly visible areas.
A result is visible after a period of 2 – 3 months but wound healing is a process that takes 1 year and in 2 years you will see a real final result.
Of great importance is the aesthetic skill and surgical experience of the surgeon, who recognizes problems and addresses and treats the far greater expense.
